{PDOC00502} {PS00580; RIBOSOMAL_L32E} {BEGIN} ************************************ * Ribosomal protein L32e signature * ************************************ A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of: - Mammalian L32 [1]. - Drosophila RP49 [2]. - Trichoderma harzianum L32 [3]. - Yeast L32e (YBL092w). - Archaebacterial L32e [4]. These proteins have 135 to 240 amino-acid residues. As a signature pattern, we selected a stretch of about 20 residues located in the N-terminal part of these proteins. -Consensus pattern: F-x-R-x(4)-[KRL]-x(2)-[KRT]-[LIVMFT]-x(3,5)-W-R-[KR]-x(2)- G -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the pattern: ALL. -Other sequence(s) detected in Swiss-Prot: NONE. -Last update: December 2004 / Pattern and text revised.
