{PDOC52063} {PS52063; D10C} {BEGIN} *********************** * D10C domain profile * *********************** The D10C domain, which contains ten well-conserved cysteine residues, is about 130 amino acid residues in length, and is present in mainly in two classes of proteins: class 1 includes liver-specific zona pellucida (ZP) domain- containing protein (LZP), uromodulin (UMOD) and pancreatic secretory granule membrane major glycoprotein GP2; class 2 includes von Willebrand factor D and EGF domain-containing proteins. Most of these proteins are membrane proteins, extracellular proteins or nuclear membrane proteins [1,2]. The globular D10C domain fold includes two 3(10) helices, nine beta-strands (betaA-betaI) and five intermolecular disulfides (C1-C8, C2-C9, C3-C6, C4- C10, C5-C7) (see ) [2]. The profile we developed covers the entire D10C repeat. -Sequences known to belong to this class detected by the profile: ALL. -Other sequence(s) detected in Swiss-Prot: NONE. -Last update: May 2025 / First entry.
