Ribosomal protein L32e signature





Description

A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:

  • Mammalian L32 [1].
  • Drosophila RP49 [2].
  • Trichoderma harzianum L32 [3].
  • Yeast L32e (YBL092w).
  • Archaebacterial L32e [4].

These proteins have 135 to 240 amino-acid residues. As a signature pattern, we selected a stretch of about 20 residues located in the N-terminal part of these proteins.
