YcaO domain profile

Description

The YcaO domain is found in the following proteins:

  • Escherichia YcaO, involved in β-methylthiolation of ribosomal protein S12 [1].
  • Bacterial and archeal thiazole/oxazole-modified microcin (TOMM) D protein, which uses ATP to activate amide backbones during peptide cyclodehydrations [2].

The YcaO domain is likely to be involved in post-translational modification (PTM) of amino acid residues.

The profile we developed covers the entire YcaO domain.
