Ribosomal protein S10 is one of the proteins from the small ribosomal subunit. In Escherichia coli, S10 is known to be involved in binding tRNA to the ribosomes. It belongs to a family of ribosomal proteins which, on the basis of sequence similarities [1], groups:
S10 is a protein of about 100 amino-acid residues. As a signature pattern, we selected a conserved region located in the center of these proteins.
