Ribosomal protein L30e signatures

Description

A number of eukaryotic and archaebacterial ribosomal proteins can be grouped on the basis of sequence similarities. One of these families consists of:

  • Mammalian L30 [1].
  • Leishmania major L30.
  • Yeast YL32 [2].
  • Bacillus subtilis hypothetical protein ybxF.
  • Thermococcus celer L30 [3].
  • A probable ribosomal protein (ORF 1) from Methanococcus vannielii [4].
  • A probable ribosomal protein (ORF 104) from Sulfolobus acidocaldarius [5].

These proteins have 82 to 114 amino-acid residues. As signature patterns, we selected two conserved regions; one located in the N-terminal region, the other in the C-terminal.

Last update:

April 2006 / Pattern revised.
