Peptidase family C23 domain profile


Description

βflexiviridae are a family of plant viruses containing a single-stranded positive-sense RNA genome [E1]. The first open reading frame (ORF1) of βflexiviridae encodes a putative replication-associated protein that is autocatalytically processed by a peptidase family C23 domain [E2]. The peptidase family C23 domain is a papain-like proteinase domain with catalytic cysteine and histidine residues [1].

Some proteins known to contain a peptidase family C23 domain are listed below:

  • Blueberry scorch virus (BBScV) RNA replication protein.
  • Apple stem pitting virus (ASPV) RNA replication protein.
  • Potato virus M (PVM) RNA replication protein.

The profile we developed covers the entire peptidase family C23 domain.
